Luckily her name was recommended to Arena Chandigarh and after undergoing counselling, she was convinced that this was her call. She immediately joined AAASP and in no time she started to shine. The result was that she was North India Topper in her first semester itself.

Jasmine’s talent was very obvious even in the first “Creative Mind” competition where she submitted a beautiful portfolio for a product packaging.

Arena Chandigarh holds Animation Workshop at IIT Roorkee
Animation Class at IIT Roorkee 2008

Arena Chandigarh was Invited to hold a 3 Day Workshop on Maya at IIT Roorkee from 28-30 March 2008.

When the Arena Faculty Team of Senior Faculty Sushree Sunita Das, Lab assistants Deepak and Vijay Pratap reach the IIT Campus on 28 morning, there were around 60 curious students waiting anxiously for them. It was a pleasant change from the laidback normal student who comes to learn animation. The attendees had never seen Maya and the target was to get them working on Maya. The students went on to create their cartoon character models by the end of the 3rd day.
More than 25% of the students reached a stage where they could work on their own in the software. They were able to use materials, lighting, paint effects, basic rigging, character modelling, and basic animations by the end of the workshop.

Yogesh the co-ordinator of the workshop and also a Final Year student, was very happy with the feedback he recieved from the attendees.

Sushree, I was overjoyed when some students expressed their interest in taking up Animation as their career after finishing with IIT. A lot of students wanted repeat Workshops to happen as soon as possible.

Overall, the IITian language they’d say they were “Zapped” by the workshop. We’d say “Wait we’ll Zap the World”!!
