Chief Guests in a Jubilant Mood

Arena Chandigarh celebrated their 14th Annual Day at the Govt. Art Museum, Sec 10, Chandigarh. The winners from various academic and co-curricular activities were blessed by the presence of various dignitaries present. The Chief Guest was Ajay Sirvastava, Director, STPI, Mohali, and the Guest of Honour was Dr. Mahender Kumar , Head, Department of Indian Theatre, Panjab University. Dr. Sanjay Palsule, Professor, IIT Roorkee was also present to give prizes to the winners. Various Alumnus from across the years were also present to grace the occasion.

Best Solo Dance (Male) - Tejaswini
Best Solo Dance (Female) - Ramandeep Kaur

Arena celebrates 12 years of success

Arena Chandigarh 17, celebrates it’s XII Annual Function

Another year has passed by where we were able to help some more creative people find their vocations. Like every year, Arena gathered to celebrate another successful year of its presence in Chandigarh. We have completed 12 years of presence in Bhangra dance during annual functionChandigarh on 30th Nov, 2008. Arena had organized an annual function for their students. The function was celebrated in the Govt. Museum Auditorium, Sector 10, Chd. 

Beneign presence of parents and Guardians made the function more glorious. The event began by the welcome speech by Mr RAJESH, followed by “deepanjali” by Mr S.L Kapoor, Managing Director Arena Animation Academy.  Various dance items and games were held in which students took  part whole heartedly. . Students performed on different themes which were Haryanvi, Rajasthani, Western, Classical, Mono – acting and Skits. Punjabi Bhangra and Gidda rocked the crowd.

Each and every item was up to the mark. The leading attractions of the evening were “SINGH IS KING”, solo dance by Dheeraj, “Zindagi me koi aye na Rabba”, solo song by Sahil Dhiman, “Desi girl” by Nitti,  “Buhe Bariyan”, solo song by Rachita.

The boys blast the stage with the traditional bhangra item presented by Gurwinder and party, there was a stupefying performance by Arenaites in the Ramp show. Beside this there was a group dance by Ranbir and Nitti, Group bhangra by Parminder Singh and students, “Bhagat Singh”, skit by Mr Rajesh and students, “Dance par chance marle”, solo dance by Anjali, “Shikwa bhi tumse”, solo dance by Pankaj. There was a rocking performance by vicky on the traditional all time hit ‘‘Maa Sharda’’ . .  Audience enjoyed all the items. After the grand, mind-boggling performances by Arenaites, there was the prize distribution ceremony, in which all the students who had shown their best in academics were honored. They include Atul Sethi (who was awarded Best in BSC ), Jasmine(awarded as Best in AAASP), Simranpreet Kaur Virk (Best in DAE), Young Faculty Award was given to MR Aayush Chopra. Presentation of annual report was also given by Mr. Vineet Raj Kapoor, Director of Arena Multimedia.

Arena Chandigarh Annual Function XI held

Arena animation academy Chandigarh Annual Function students dance drama acting songs singing musicToday on 16th March 2008, Arena Animation Academy has celebrated its 11th Annual function. Dr. Mahender Kumar, Chairman, Dept of Indian Theatre was the honorable chief guest at 11th Annual Function that was held in Bal Bhawan Sec 23, Chandigarh. The event began by the welcome speech by Mr Parminder, followed by “deepanjali” by Mr S.L Kapoor, Managing Director Arena Animation Academy.

The older students of the institute, which are currently working in leading companies, were invited to grace the event. At the genial event arenaites had given stupefying performances. Each and every item was up to the mark The leading attractions of the evening were “Tau Hat Ja”, solo dance by Dheeraj, “Dil kya kare”, solo song by Vivek, “Kahin Aag Lage”, by Deepa, “Tinka-Tinka”, solo song by Rachita, The boys blast the stage with the traditional bhangra item presented by Gurvinder and party, there was a stupefying performance by Arenaites in the Ramp show. Beside this there was a group dance by Anjali and Dhiraj, Group bhangra by Parminder Singh and students, “Rangela Ramu”, skit by Mr Jagdeep singh and students, “Aaja Nache Le”, solo dance by Parul, “Jine Mera Dil Lutiya”, solo dance by Pankaj. There was a rocking performance by Sunaiyna on the traditional all time hit, Maye-ni-Maye.

Arun was titled as Mr Arena and Megha as Miss Arena based on the Ramp show presented by Areniates, followed by the questioning round by the chief guest.

After the grand, mind-boggling performances by Arenaites, there was the prize distribution ceremony, in which all the students who had shown their best in academics were honored. They include Atul Sethi (who was awarded Best in BSC ), Mridul (awarded as Best in AAASP), Vijay (Best in DAE), All rounder award was given to Gurwinder Singh. Beside this, Mrs Anjali S. Aggarwal, working as lecturer in Arts College, sector 10 was honoured with female designer recognition award, she is also the current recipient of Lalit Kala Akademi’s award for her art photography.

All the participants of creative mind (An Inter Arena Center competition), which was held in Delhi, were given the participation certificates. Mr. Vineet Raj Kapoor, Center Academic Head of Arena Animation Academy Chandigarh spoke about the emerging opportunities to the various students with the upcoming Film cum Multimedia City. He advised the students to work hard to make their mark in the industry. He said, “I would advise you to stay positive if you want to win. Remember, Dissatisfaction and discouragement is not caused by absence of things, but by the absence of vision. Coal and diamond are made of same stuff, only the diamond took on more pressure and came out shining!”

After the encouraging report by the Director, Chief guest Dr. Mahender Kumar, Director Indian Theatre and recent winner of the highest award in Theatre given by Sangeet Natak Academi New Delhi given on 26 February 2008. Chairman, Dept of Indian Theatre, spoke a few words of encouragement for the students. Dr. Mahender said, “Today Arena and VirtualSoft are 2 very important landmarks and pioneers in Chandigarh. And their attempt to capture a piece of action in the animation Arena would go a long way in establishing this field in the city”

The function ended up with the vote of thanks presented.
