S. Vijay Kumar, one of the students of Arena Chandigarh, was adjudged the All-India DAE Topper for 2008
Hailing from Lamdeng in Imphal, Son of a Government Employee, Soubam Vijay Kumar from ARENA Chandigarh Centre has been declared as the best DAE Student for the year 2008.
Chandigarh was one of the first Arena centres to have launched the high-end DAE curriculum way back in 2005. During this period, Arena Chandigarh has produced some very fine artists who have joined the industry in India and Abroad.
The best DAE student Award is declared based on the overall weighted marks (minimum being 75%), which is taken into consideration for deciding the DAE Certificate Grade.
Vijay had come all the way from Lamdeng, Imphal (West District), with only one vision in his mind - to pursue animation education at Arena Chandigarh 17. He says,”Way back in 2005, when DAE course was just launched, I had come to know that it was being offered only through Chandigarh and Chennai centres. I opted for Chandigarh since I was sure that I would get more personal attention here - as animation is new in North India.”
Vijay is the son of Soubam Kulabi Singh, who is Manager, Loktak Power Station, N.H.P.C.

Jasmine Kaur was spotted by Student Guidance Cell, Panjab University during an all-college study on creativity. Luckily her name was recommended to Arena Chandigarh and after undergoing counselling, she was convinced that this was her call. She immediately joined AAASP and in no time she started to shine. The result was that she was North India Topper in her first semester itself.
Jasmine’s talent was very obvious even in the first “Creative Mind” competition where she submitted a beautiful portfolio for a product packaging.
